How to Use Categories and Sub-Categories in WordPress for Post Management?

WordPress categories enable you to organize your post by subject. This makes it easier for users to browse your content and find relevant articles. There are two ways you can add new categories to your site. First, you can navigate to post categories here. Start by entering a name for your category in the field on the left side of the screen.

Then you can create its Slug, which will appear in the URL for this Categories Archive page. If you would like to create a sub category, you can select its parent category from the drop down menu. Finally, you can add a description of what this category includes, then click on Add New Category. Alternatively, you can create new categories in the Block Editor. Click on the Gear icon to open the Editor Options menu.

Expand the Categories section, then click on Add New Category. Enter the Categories name, select a parent category if needed, then click on Add New Category again. To assign a post to a category, just select the relevant category from the list in the Editor Options menu. Then save or update your posts.
