What Are Tools in WordPress?

In the WordPress admin sidebar, Tools is a menu tab. It includes tools for completing non-routine management tasks. There are three options with every WordPress installation.

“Available Tools” is the first. A bookmarklet called Press This is included in this section, and it allows for quick posting and publishing by using the browser’s favorite button. A categories to tags converter script is immediately beneath that, which will take you to the Tools Import Screen.

The Import and Export tabs are immediately beneath the Available Tools tab if you return to the tools drop-down menu.

WordPress can import and export data to and from other content management systems using these tools. The import tool includes scripts for importing data into WordPress from other content management systems. If you have a Blogger, Movable Type, or WordPress website, you can install any of the scripts on this page. These scripts will allow you to import your content from whatever CMS you specify. The categories to tags converter script is the other script on this page, as previously mentioned.

The export tool allows users to export WordPress data in XML format which can later be imported into another WordPress installation. The format is called a WordPress eXtended RSS or WXR file. It will contain all of your posts, comments, custom fields, categories, and tags. Exporting your content is a useful way to back up your WordPress website.
